Mrs. Gilbert McCLAIN died very unexpectedly at her home south of Milligan on Monday afternoon about four. Mrs. McClain has not been in the best of health and underwent an operation for goiter a few months ago. She was in Waveland in the morning. Her two sisters, Mrs. Pulliam and Mrs. Millemon were with her at the time, and she was talking and laughing when the seizure came. She was assisted to bed but died in a few minutes. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Moriah Church on Wed. morning, Rev. C. L. Airhart in charge. Burial at Mt. Moriah. She is survived by her husband and three children: Mrs. Jewel Grimes, Everett and Neal McClain; and by four sisters: Mrs. Mary McClain, Mrs. Lurinda Swaim of Rockville, Mrs. Kate Pulliam of Marshall and Mrs. George Millemon of Bellmore; two brothers, Howard Starks of Bellmore and William Starks of Marshall. - transcribed by kbz
